Despite drilling small drain holes in the bottom it seems like the water was causing the bird seed to get spoiled or moldy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since magnets work great on this feeder I decided to try some magnetic vent deflectors, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<center><iframe style=\"width:120px;height:240px;\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&#038;OneJS=1&#038;Operation=GetAdHtml&#038;MarketPlace=US&#038;source=ac&#038;ref=qf_sp_asin_til&#038;ad_type=product_link&#038;tracking_id=jediwompa-20&#038;marketplace=amazon&amp;region=US&#038;placement=B00B844LSY&#038;asins=B00B844LSY&#038;linkId=9d4ac4c12bde0a29b2c6c43ca7808dc8&#038;show_border=true&#038;link_opens_in_new_window=true&#038;price_color=333333&#038;title_color=0066c0&#038;bg_color=ffffff\">\n    <\/iframe><\/center>\n\n\n\n<p>These vent deflectors are adjustable and fit perfectly on this ammo box. Admittedly, I&#8217;m not wild about the way they look and I&#8217;m a bit concerned the birds may run into them, since they are see through. Even so, they seem to be helping to keeping the rain out.
