Plant Finder 5000

Some of my interest revolve around flowers, plants, gardening, and wildlife. As part of these interests, I sometimes need help identifying certain plants, seeing relating plants species, or just exploring different plants. As a result, I used my software developing skills and my interest to learn some Angular JS 1.x to explore combining all of the interest. As a result, I used some data mining techniques to form a database of 44,700 plants and nearly 200,000 images. All of the backend is powered by Java, Tomcat and Sprint Boot. Meanwhile, the frontend is powered by Angular JS. The data is presented in a tabular format, which is paginated, and can be filtered by scientific or common name.

This tool is called Plant Finder 5000 (PF5K) and is available online for your use.
